Carbonless paper and NCR paper are the same thing. NCR stands for “No Carbon Required” and is a type of paper that allows users to make copies of a document without a printer, scanner, or photocopier. 

NCR paper is a modern alternative to carbon paper, which was the standard for making duplicates in the past. Carbon paper was messy and could transfer carbon to fingers and clothes. It also retained a visual image of the text, making it an insecure choice for confidential documents. 

NCR paper is made up of multiple sheets of paper that are coated with a dye backing and a clay-like substance. When the top sheet is written on, the pressure transfers the dye onto the sheet underneath, creating a copy of the original document. The print is accurate and can be transferred down multiple sheets. 

NCR paper has many uses, including: Invoices, Contracts, Warranty forms, Application forms, and Delivery dockets. 

NCR paper is available in a variety of colors and can be used as a notepad, business form, or other custom-made form.
