How Buyers Should Evaluate Environmental Requirements
Terms such as BPA-free, recyclable, responsibly sourced, or lower-impact should not be assumed from a thermal-paper product name. They need to be checked against the exact grade, destination market, and current supporting documents.
- Chemical specification: State any BPA, BPS, or phenol requirement and request a current declaration or test report for the selected grade and batch.
- Local recycling route: Ask the receiving recycler whether it accepts thermal paper with the relevant coating and colorants.
- Fiber sourcing: If certified or traceable fiber is required, request a current certificate or supplier document with an applicable scope.
- Packaging: Confirm case material, inner wrapping, pallet configuration, and any packaging-reduction target before quotation.
- Operational fit: Compare roll length, image life, printer compatibility, storage conditions, and waste caused by jams or premature fading.
Information to Include in an RFQ
Share the roll width, diameter or length, core size, grammage, printer model, use environment, destination country, and every required chemical, forestry, packaging, or recycling document. This allows the offered grade to be reviewed against the actual purchasing requirement.
